Shar Matin is the Chief Executive Officer of Cirtec Medical and brings over 25 years of global leadership experience in the medical technology sector. He has a proven track record of scaling businesses, driving innovation, and forging strong customer partnerships across Fortune 500 and mid-sized companies. Most recently, he served as CEO of Cordis, where he led its transformation from a division of Cardinal Health into one of the world’s largest pure-play cardiovascular companies, including the strategic acquisition of Med Alliance's drug-eluting balloon technology.
Prior to Cordis, Shar held senior leadership roles at View Ray, Spectranetics, Boston Scientific, and Guidant. As Chief Operating Officer of Spectranetics, he was instrumental in growing the company’s value from $250 million to over $2 billion ahead of its acquisition by Royal Philips.
Shar began his career as a process and manufacturing engineer and held technical and commercial leadership roles. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Koru Medical Systems.
In his free time, Shar enjoys spending time with his three kids, biking and boating.
